Would you like to get into the heart of the Anaga Rural Park? There is no better way to discover its essence than walking along its trails surrounded by the wildest nature in Tenerife. This massif, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2015, hides one of the best-preserved natural treasures on the island: its thousand-year-old laurel forest.
Accompanied by an expert guide, we will explore this magical environment starting from La Cruz del Carmen on a circular route known as the ‘Forest of Enigmas’. Along the way, we will visit viewpoints and corners full of history, revealing the botanical and cultural secrets that make this rainforest a unique place in the world.

Where do we meet?
Ermita de la Cruz del Carmen at 10.00 a.m. (parking is available in the area). On Sundays, the activity will start at 9.30 am.

The route we will follow is as follows: Cruz del Carmen – Hija Cambada – Mirador de Zapata – Las Hiedras – Cruz del Carmen.
- It is essential to wear sports shoes, warm clothes and water.
- Please be punctual. In case of late arrivals, a maximum courtesy time of 15 minutes will be allowed (as long as we are notified of the delay).
- Please wear appropriate clothing. For safety reasons we cannot allow anyone who does not wear sports shoes to participate.
- Public transport to the meeting point is scarce. If you are going by bus, check the timetables and plan your route.
- The trail is circular, so there is no problem if you come with your own vehicle.
The Bosque de los Enigmas trail does not enter any of the 3 integral reserve areas located within the Anaga Rural Park, in which activities of this type are not permitted. Therefore, it is not necessary to apply for individual permits.
