Immerse yourself in one of the most impressive hiking routes in Tenerife: the Barranco de Masca. This unique experience begins with a short walk through the charming hamlet of Masca, before starting the 5 km descent through spectacular scenery.
Due to its high natural value and its demanding nature, this trail has a limited number of daily places and it is recommended to do it with an expert guide in order to enjoy it safely.
We will meet at the marina of Los Gigantes, where we will take a shuttle to the hamlet of Masca. From there, we descend to an unspoilt cove, sheltered by the imposing Los Gigantes Cliffs, which rise up to 450 metres high. Although bathing is not allowed for safety reasons, the beauty of the surroundings more than compensates.
After a short rest in the cove, we will end the adventure with a boat ride back to the harbour, enjoying unparalleled views of the majestic cliffs.

- Meeting point: Los Gigantes Marina (next to the entrance control barrier). It is advisable to arrive some time in advance in order to park, and we recommend trying to park in the streets before arriving at the pier. If this is not possible, you should use the services of the private car park at the Marina. Approximate price: 2 €/hour.

- It is necessary to bring: ID card or passport, clothes and hiking shoes with good tread on the soles, water (2 litres) and picnic. In the event of not wearing suitable footwear, the Visitor Centre staff will not allow access to the canyon and the amount paid will not be refunded (sports footwear is NOT accepted).
- Departure will be early enough to arrive at the first site at around 12:00.
- The Guachinche may vary in case the chosen one closes on the days chosen for the route, or due to holidays, but we have several Guachinches that meet the same characteristics of quality, location and permits.
- Although it is not a route designed for children, there are children’s menus in all the Guachinches, for which 50% will be charged for children from 3 to 11. Children up to 2 years old are free of charge.
- The tour ends at approximately 16:00, not including travel time back to the client’s accommodation.
– We will arrange access permits to the canyon on your behalf and notify you if any problems arise.
– This is a Medium Difficulty activity, so some hiking experience is recommended.
– No access for children under 8 years of age
-It is also not recommended for people with cardio-respiratory problems and pregnant women.
– The courtesy waiting time is 10 minutes.
– In case of non-compliance with any of the necessary conditions, standards, equipment and documentation, the staff of the company in charge of the road control (TRAGSA) will deny access and no reimbursement will be made (see below).Pay particular attention to footwear. It has to be mountain and with good tread on the sole.) .
– During the descent of the path, if the guide considers that a user has any difficulty in completing the whole path, he/she may order him/her, for safety reasons, to return to the starting point. In this case, the guide will make sure that the user’s physical conditions are sufficient to guarantee the return and that water and food are available. This measure will also be coordinated by informing the gully control personnel who are located at various points in the gully.

– In case of closure of the canyon for reasons beyond our control (adverse weather or other reasons):
*If the closure occurs the days before the activity, we will contact the clients as soon as possible (via whatsapp and email) to propose an alternative date if possible or otherwise a refund will be made.
*If the closure takes place on the same day as the activity, an alternative hiking route will be organised, which will include transport back to Los Gigantes and a meal tasting Canarian products. No refund will be made for the excursion.
