What is the Anaga Rural Park?
Anaga is a rugged mountain massif located in the far northeastern corner of Tenerife. Its dramatic topography, with deep valleys, sheer ravines and mist-covered peaks, creates a unique microclimate that has allowed the laurisilva forest to survive since the Tertiary era. Here, time seems to stand still.
The park is home to three integral nature reserves: the Ijuana Reserve, the El Pijaral Reserve and the Los Roques de Anaga Reserve, as well as the Monte de Aguirre, with one of the most impressive primeval forests in all of Macaronesia.
